Maharani Bagh Orchard Retreat
Pali

Maharani Bagh is a delightful orchard retreat situated between Jodhpur, Udaipur and Mount Abu. The orchards, surrounded by the Aravalli hills were laid out in the late 19th century by the Maharani of Jodhpur and have always been a favourite resort for the members of the Jodhpur royal family. It is only 4 km away from the famous Ranakpur Temples and 40 Km from the imposing Kumbalgarh Fort.

Ranakpur: Near the village of Sadri lies the Ranakpur temple complex, one of the biggest and the most important cluster of Jain temples in India. Nestled in the Aravalli range, Ranakpur is a mere 4 km from Maharani Bagh. The Chaumukha Temple, or Four Faced Temple, is the main temple in the complex and dates back to the 15th century. Built in marble, the temple has 29 halls supported by more than 1400 pillars, no two of which are alike. The two other Jain temples in the complex are Neminath and Parasnath temple. The temple complex is open for non-Jains from noon to 5pm.

Kumbalgarh: In sheer scale, size and beauty, the imposing Kumbalgarh Fort is considered second only to Chittorgarh in the region. Built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha, the fort's main advantage lay in its virtually inaccessible position atop 1100 metres on the Aravalli Range. No wonder, Kumbalgarh was taken only once in its entire history, and it was here that the Mewar rulers retreated in times of danger.
