Arrive at Cochin and explore the old city visiting the Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue. Drive to Guruvayoor to visit the Thriprayar and Kodungaloor Temples. Drive to Calicut, see the museum and market and watch a Kalaripayattu performance (traditionl martial art of Kerala). Drive to Kalpetta and take an evening boat ride on Lake Pookot. Visit the Jain Temple, Edakkal Cave and Tirunelli Temple. On to Mysore for a city tour including the famous Vrindavan Gardens. Go on a full day excursion to Somnathpuram. Drive to Bangalore for overnight.
Itinerary :
DAY 01: COCHIN
Arrive Cochin International Airport/Railway Station, Meet and Transfer to Royal Village- S suburban heritage village resort or Avenue Regent / Similar, city centre luxury hotels. Day at leisure. Optional activity- Cochin Harbour sightseeing cruise (Cochin has one of the finest natural harbours in the world)/ city sightseeing to Jewel Synagogue, St.Francis Church, Dutch Place, Chinese, Fishing Nets and shopping. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: COCHIN-MUNNAR
After breakfast, drive to Munnar, a picturesque drive of three and half hours from Cochin. Check in at Fort Munnar. Rest of thee day at leisure. Take a drive to the near by Anayirangal Lake & the Hanging Bridge. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: MUNNAR
After breakfast, half day sightseeing trip to Mattupetty Dam, Eco Point etc. Afternoon free for optional entertainments (lake Safari, Horse riding, Tribal Village visit, Tea factory visit, Plantation visit, Trekking and Camping. Rock Climbing, grappling, River Crossing etc.) or rejuvanate yourself at Green Laves a speciality ayurveda centre facing the Anayirangal lake. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: MUNNAR - THEKKADY
After breakfast, drive to Thekkady (Vandenmadu), a scenic two and a half hours drive from Munnar, if interested, visit a Tea factory on the way. Check in at Carmellia Heaven. Afternoon, Boat Safari in the Periyar Lake. Evening, visit the Spice Market where you can pick up some fragant spices or handcrafted jewellery. Overnight at resort.
DAY 05: THEKKADY-KUMARAKOM
After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. A picturesque 4 hrs. Drive doown Thekkady. Check - in Waterscapes Resort. Day at leisure to enjoy the serene backwaters. Evening optional activity- Motorboat / Speedboat excursion through the Vembanad Lake, Walk down the pathway of the Vembanad Bird Sanctuary, where you can spsot some of the rare species of bird. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: KUMARAKOM- KOVALAM
After breakfast, drive to Kovalam, Check-in at Udaya Samudra Beach Resort, Day at leisure by the beach. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: KOVALAM-KANYAKUMARI-KOVALAM
After breakfast, Take a day trip to Kanyakumari. Return to Kovalam in the evening. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 08: KOVALAM - TRIVANDRUM
After breakfast, check out of resort & drive to Trivandrum Airport/ Station for onward Departure.
